The leading department on the project is Department of National and Regional Security. It is established at the UNWE in 1990 with leading specialty “Economics of Defence and Security” and later on “Corporate Security”. For the last 10 years DNRS implemented more than 30 research projects financed by NATO, UNWE and MoD, related to: R&D in Defence, Critical Infrastructure, Arms Trafficking, Economic aspects of terrorism, Human Trafficking, Corruption and Organised Crime.
Prof. D. Dimitrov PhD is manager of the project. He is the Dean of faculty “Economics of Infrastructure” at the UNWE and Head of “DNRS“. He has experience in 50 research project, 16 international incl., member of the SIPRI Military expenditure and arms production network and INSEN, has more than 103 publications related to economics and security, some of them published in the Netherlands, Germany, USA, UK.
Our team includes 20 highly trained specialists in various areas like: Project and Risk management, Business Process Analysis, GIS, Spatio-temporal Analysis and Clustering, Legal and Communication experts. Among us are proven associate professors like Tsvetan Tsvetkov, Konstantin Poudin, Georgi Pavlov and Georgi Penchev.
